The nation didn’t stopped laughing over with the hilarious claims of Vice Chancellor of the Andhra University, the next speaker on the list went miles ahead in stupidity.
Prof. G. Nageswara Rao, the Vice Chancellor of the Andhra University on Saturday said that the evil Kauravas of the Mahabharata were the test tube babies of the Gandhari and the Dhritrashtra. He also claimed that the Dashavatara theory is far better than the Darwin’s Theory of Evolution. The Dashavatara theory he is referring to is the belief that the Hindu god Vishnu has 10 primary avatars and every time the cosmic order of the planet is disturbed, Vishnu descends to the planet to restore this order.
These comments came when he was presenting a presentation of ‘Science in the Indian Way of Life’ at the ‘Meet the Scientists’ session at the 106th Indian Science Congress which is being held in Jalandhar to inculcate the scientific temperament in children.
The next speaker that followed this gentleman was Dr. Kannan Jagathala Krishnan and was even more “intelligent” and went ahead to said that the great physicists like Albert Einstein, Issac Newton and Stephen Hawking were all wrong.
He claimed that all the major accepted theories of physics are wrong while the experiments are correct. He didn’t stop here and went on to add that he is working on a unified theory, which he has named as the Vellarithi Model of Universe which, if approved, would explain everything.
He also added that if his model is accepted, gravitational waves would be referred to as the ‘Narendra Modi Waves’, after the Prime Minister, and the bending of light because of the presence of an object between the light source and the observer, which is presently known as the Gravitational Lensing Effect would be renamed after the minister of Science and Technology, Dr. Harsh Vardhan as the ‘Harsh Vardhan Effect’.
He also claimed that he was the source of the bizarre comment that the Science and Technology Minister made last year in the Science Congress where he quoted Hawking saying that the Vedas have an equation superior to the Einstein’s mass energy equivalence which is E=mc2.
The next to his list was the Bharat Ratna Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam. He went on to say that if his theory is approved than Dr. Harsh Vardhan would be regarded as a greater scientist than India’s missile man, Dr. Kalam.
“It is a disservice to science when supposedly leading experts in technology use science as a color to justify their own version of mythology. It is dangerous to the spirit of scientific inquiry – which relies on evidence and not belief. Time and again, the Science Congress has become a staging ground for such PR activity which causes disruption to the more serious and grounded work. It is sad that such statements become so important in no time”, said Srijan Pal Singh, former Advisor and OSD to Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam.
This is not the first time that similar unfound claims have been made at the National Science Congress. But, this time the foolishness and stupidity have crossed all the limits. The event organizers have also distanced themselves from such comments.
