On Tuesday, Shah Rukh Khan completed 27 years in Bollywood, and fans of the star celebrated the event all day on social media. Shah Rukh Khan or SRK made his Bollywood debut on June 25, 1992, with Deewana, and it was a great success at the box office.
He made his entry in the second half of the film and it was enough for the audience to understand that this boy who grew up in the Rajendra Nagar neighborhood of Delhi would eventually be the next superstar of Indian cinema.
Over a span of 27 years, Shahrukh delivered some of the biggest hits of the Hindi film cinema, which include Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Pardes, Dil Toh Pagal Hai, Devdas, Baazigar, Darr, Main Hoon Na, Kal Ho Na Ho, Mohabbatein, Veer Zaara, My Name Is Khan, Chak De India, and many other films.
He made a humble beginning with theatre in Delhi where he learned theatre under the guidance of Barry John before he moved to television with shows like “Fauji” and “Circus”, and eventually into the universe of films.
His journey from the small-to-big screen was nothing short of magic and inspiration, as he had no godfathers in the industry. He created a legacy for himself by earning epithets like ‘Badshah’ and ‘King Khan’ during his glorious journey.
So, it was natural for his die-hard fans to shower him with love and appreciation that he richly deserves as they took to Twitter and to no surprise ’27 golden years of SRK’ started trending immediately.
Thanking his fans on social media he said, “I want to say a big thank you for completing 27 years in the Hindi film cinema, which is exactly half my lifetime on Earth. I’ve been trying to entertain you for that many years and sometimes I have succeeded and many times I have failed. So, I want to thank you for bearing with for so many years. Since, I came on a motorcycle in my first film called Deewana, singing Koi Na Koi Chahiye and you allowed me into your hearts.”
Although he has done more than 60 films during this said period, so picking out his best films and performances would be a tough task for me, but this occasion calls for it, so as a true blue fan I have compiled that list which will cover his entire film journey.
